Soooo.... JD and I moved into a condo in Lowell,MA about two months ago. We love our new home and are happy to be in it. We also decieded to adopt a cat. We looked on petfinder.com to check out some of our options. I was interested in a female calico named Kitty she was older and declawed and a fat cat. JD didn't like the looks of her on the website. We agreed to go to the Lowell Humane Society on Saturday to check out the kitties. Long story short we not only got Kitty and renamed her She-Ra we adopted a tiger named Raz. He is now known as Raz Matahari and is insanely adventurous and fearless. We've had him for two days and he's already out of the safe room. She-Ra is another story she has been coming out of her hiding spots but definitely needs to explore further when Raz is not going to be around to hinder her. They are getting along ok, meaning they haven't brawled, but it would be nice for the growling and hissing to be less frequent.

Last night we went to Newbury Comics and purchased some CD's. We haven't done that in quiet a while. I was determined to get some Johnny Cash. Yes I like Johnny Cash. I'm not sure when it happened but I really like When the Man Comes Around. It's just good.
Let's see I've finished Adams skull sweater, knit myself some pants and am restarting a top down raglan sweater. I wasn't going to but after talking to Brandy about it over sushi last night I'm going to be adding short rows to it. I need a "boob pocket" as Brandy calls it. She's right short rows are my friend. I've knit myself sweaters and haven't worn them because they fit all funky. Damn it that most freaking patterns are written for those who are not overly boobie.

I finished Tie One On usingRowan Kidsilk Night in Dazzle . It came out rather lovely and now I have to find a broch to wear with it.
I started the Shapely Tank some time ago and never finished it. I was looking to reduce the stash and found the beginings of the tank. I ripped it and began again. I'm so excited to work on this. Especially since I need to practice with short rows. I plan on using this powerful technique to add ease in the bust area.
I am also making a bunny hat for JD's nephew. He's going to look so cute in it!

I tried to make whipped cream today in my food processor. All was going fine and dandy but I wasn't sure if my cream was whipped enough so I let the whipping action continue. JD comes over and looks into the food processor and tells me that I should probably turn it off because it was beginning to look stiff. I said nah I still need to hold out for those peaks the instructions mention. Well, a few secs later the cream starts to seperate. JD then comments on how it looks like I'm starting to make butter and sure enough I was scooping out butter. I let the cream whip for too long. There is a fine line between whipped cream and butter... a fine line.

There is a fair isle pattern in the baby jumper that I am making and I figured that it was about time for me to learn how to knit English style. I used to crochet when I was younger so when I taught myself how to knit I just held the yarn as I would if I were corcheting. I found out that this style of holding the yarn is Continental. But since I have to switch back and forth between two colors I figure that it would just make sense to hold one color Continental and the other English. After 2+ years of knitting Continental trying out this new style makes me feel like I'm all thumbs. I will win though. I'm determined to conquer the English technique!
In case you have no clue as to what I'm talking about check out these videos on knitting techniques.

I went to A Good Yarn today to get more Blue Sky Organic Cotton for yet another Baby Bobbi Bear. The last time that I was there I noticed that they carried the yarn that I'm using to make JD's sisters babys jumper out of. So I grabbed the label and went only expecting to find the color that I needed. Boy did I luck out. Not only did they have it in the color that I needed it was from the same dye lot as the skiens that I had picked up from Circles! I'm so happy that I finally get to finish the jumper and the hat!

It's the middle of July and I don't have a job for the summer. That means no new yarn *sigh*, but it is an opportunity for me to clear out my stash! I have a whole hank of Araucania Nature Wool and a little bit of a ball of it left over from another project that I finished. I'm making myself some leg warmers! I'm going to do a simple K3 P2 rib and see how it goes.
