Marc has asked me to make him a Baby Bobbi bear because he thought mine was so cute. So off I go on another bear knitting adventure! Shoosh!

It's the middle of July and I don't have a job for the summer. That means no new yarn *sigh*, but it is an opportunity for me to clear out my stash! I have a whole hank of Araucania Nature Wool and a little bit of a ball of it left over from another project that I finished. I'm making myself some leg warmers! I'm going to do a simple K3 P2 rib and see how it goes.

I am Baby Bobbi Bear! Fear me! Bring me sacrifices of honey and chocolate! GGGRRRAAARRR! 

This is the partially completed Baby Bobbi Bear. Now I assumed that this guy was going to be a mini bear, but this bear is the size of a baby! 

I'm still waiting to get in my order of yarn to finish up both my sweater and the baby jumper. In the meantime I have started work on the Blue Sky Alpacas Baby Bobbi Bear. Jillian very kindly bought me the yarn and pattern for my birthday. I didn't want to start it just yet because I wanted to finish my other projects first, but seeing as how I haven't got the yarn to finish them I figured now is as good a time as any.

So far I have worked on the front and back body and have finished the butt and a leg. I've started the second leg and should be finished with it at some point today. Then I get to work on the head!

The yarn that I am using for the teddy is the Blue Sky Organic Cotton. It is wonderfully soft and light. I would love to make a nice cardigan and tank set from it. It would also make for a nice skirt.

I have achieved ducks! When I bought the yarn for this project Circles only had 5 skiens of the main color and I needed 6, so I put in a special order for 2 more skeins of the main color (an extra skein just in case). I've completed the front, back, a sleeve, and 3/4 of the second sleeve. There is nothing left for me to do but patiently wait for the phone call informing me that the skeins I need have come in. 

I was bad today. I couldn't help myself. I went to Circle's and bought a pattern and yarn for a baby outfit. It's a jumper with a matching hat and they both have ducks on them! It was too cute to resist.

I've already started the ribbing for the back right leg. I think that I might just knit the back left leg at the same time. I think that would make it easier for me. Ack! I just noticed, it's drop sleeve! Ah well at least I will be leaving a marker at the armhole. Hopefully all will go well.

JD requested a skull sweater. I labored over a drop shoulder skull sweater only to discover that because I knit so tightly (and am to stubborn/lazy to knit a swatch first) it came out too small for him. :( My cousin Shannon lucked out for Christmas. :) This is the successfull second attempt using a top down raglan method. All hail the top down raglan! 

Smada is going to be a Momma! Newly dubbed Smama is going to need something to keep Lil Smada cozy so I crocheted this blanket.

Paul got me Stitch'N Bitch Nation for christmas. I found this wonderful pattern in it for this cute fuzzy bear hat. I'm thrilled! Determined to find out if the yarn comes in a color similar to winnie-the-pooh's, I look at the yarn company's website. No pooh like colors but that's ok I'm still going to have a super cute bear hat. At least that's what I thought. I was indeed irked to find that the company that makes the type of yarn called for in the pattern doesn't sell yarn directly from their sight but I figured hey if it exists you can find it online. Well to my great suprise I can't find an online yarn store that sells all three types of GGH yarn that I need. I have found managed to find sites that sell GGH Lara and GGH Davos but they are two seperate sites. The only way I can find GGH Maxima right now is from a german site. While the site does offer a partial translation in English it has no currency converter. Not a big deal I can find one and do it myself. The problem is do I really want to pay to have yarn shipped all the way from Germany? Seems a bit much to me...this hat is super cute though. I'm hoping that I will be able to find alternatives at an LYS. I think that I will check out Circles to see what alternatives Allison has to offer and if she can't help me I will venture out to a LYS I have never been to before. I will trek to Brookline Village and give A Good Yarn a shot and see what I can find there.

With all the snowing that's been happening I had not had the pleasure off seeing what my MWF classes are like. The class that I was concerned about the most was Calculus 3. Calc 2 was a challenge for me because I had a wonderful teacher who was a hard ass. He wanted you to have a deeply intimate relationship with the subject matter by the end of the semester. Now the Fall '04 semester was a very stressful semester for me and on more than one occasion I thought I was going to cry after taking Calc 2 exams. I struggled, and bitched, and groaned, and pulled hairs out and dreamt of integrals, trig substitution, Gamma function, La Place transformations, complex numbers, polar coordinates and series and sequences and managed to get a C in the class. I had overheard one of the women in my class asking the professor if he would be teaching Calc 3. "No". Yatta! Maybe I would have someone equally as good but that didn't give 14 to 18 question exams. For a whole month I was lead to belive that a new faculty member would be teaching Calc 3, a woman in fact. I haven't had a female math teacher since...sheesh elementary school. I was a little excited. That however changed I was informed that my Calc 2 professor would be teaching the class. I hoped that was a mistake. I walked into the math class sat down and saw HIM walk in. I smiled and said "Hi" when he turned and recognized me. It was my Calc 2 professor. My first thought was to be shocked and to groan and then I thought at least I know what homework and exams will be like. I'm terrified of what is in store for me but people keep telling me that Calc 3 is easier then Calc 2. I can only hope that it is true.

JD calls me this morning asking me to do him a favor. It seems that his work key fell off his keychain and he needed me to bring it to him to let him in the office. So I pull on some clothes grab$1.25 in quarters and head out. I get to the T station and put the fare in the coin box then try to go through the turnstile but it wasn't moving. The token booth attendent then procedes to inform me that the fare is $1.25. I was a little confused by this. I told her that I knew that and pushed the turnstile, again it wouldn't turn. I look at her and she points to the fare sign and tells me again that the fare is $1.25. I tell her that is what I put in the coin box. But she keeps repeating herself. I said the far is$1.25 I put in 5 quarters that's a $1.25. She stares at me and then proceeds to tell me to buy a token next time. What the hell?!? What's the purpose of giving someone a hard time for paying the fare!

Today JD has officially met every member of my family.

It starts out with us leaving Boston and going to my Grandma's house in NY. When we got there he got to meet my uncles two kids Maria and Al Jr. Luckily for JD Maria is a teenager and Al Jr. isn't a toddler. Kids tend to be immediately attracted to JD and start behaving like baboons when he is around and all he does is simply say "Hi".

A few days later my uncle Alvin flies in. I was a little apprehensive about JD meeting Al. I thought Alvin was going to put him through a series of rigorous questioning, with good reason. The kitchen was filled with people and I'm in the hallway talking to Maria when I hear "You know that I"m going to have to interogate you." I look around and see Al looking in JD's direction. Mean while my Grandma is telling Al "He's cool, he's cool!" Well I must say I was suprised by this. Grandma was vouching for my boyfriend! Something I've never seen her do for anyone else. Anyway the "interogation" consisted of nto much more than finding out where JD is from and what he is doing in life.

Yesterday my aunt Jennifer and her kids flew in to NY. JD had already met her daughter Vanessa but had not met her or Troy, her son. Since Jennifer and the kids would be leaving tomorrow I called my aunt Brenda to see about coming over. The original plan was that Brenda was going to drop her daughter Ashley over at my Grandma's house and I was going to watch her while she went out. Al Jr. had spent the night at Joan's house to play with her son Shannon. Vanessa crashed at Grandma's house to spend time with Maria. So when Alvin Sr. went to pick up Al Jr. he took Vanessa and Maria with him.

Now all the while I was expecting my aunt Brenda to ring the bell and drop Ashley off. This never happened so I call her house. No answer. I call my aunt Joan's to see were Alvin is. When she picks up the phone I hear this rukus in the background. Apparently she has all six of my cousins at her house. Their parents are out and she is being driven mad by the kids. I hadn't got to see my cousin Troy or Jenny yet so I drag JD to Joan's house. We walk in and the most insanse cacaphone is flooding my ears. I walked into the room that the kids where in and immediately walked out. I couldn't take the noise. I felt really bad for Joan and Basil, her husband, they had to deal with that all day.

I'm done done done with this semester. Now I get to spend Christmas with the fam. Though I found that letting my aunt Sheryl know that I don't have an 8:30 am final tomorrow was a bad idea. She is actually expecting us to leave the house by 6:00 am, not 6:30. "I will expect to see you guys here by 11:00 am" What the hell!?! I don't know when my family started to miss me so much. She actually started off trying to talk us into leaving tonight.

The draw back to going to NY for Christmas is that we will be without World of Warcraft for over a week. I wonder if we will suffer withdrawal and how severe it will be if we do.

My Spring break is from March 12th to the 20th. What should I do wit the time... Sunny beaches come to mind.

Last night Nicole, Carley, Jillian, Nate and I went on the turykey hunt. We stepped into Roche Bros. and headed for the turkey isle. Immediately we spotted the one. The 29.34 lb wonder. This is the second year that we bought the turkey from Roche Bros. and again was able to find the monster turkey immediately. Roche Bros. is my turkey connection.

Tomorrow Nate, Nicole, maybe John and I will begin the hunt for the pre-thanksgiving feast turkey. Last year it weighed in at 29.6 lbs. It barley fit in the oven. We will scower every grocery store in Boston if we have to but we will find a turkey that is almost as large again!!!!

I'm not ready. I have been overwhelmed with class work and can't believe how little time is left before pre-thanksgiving. I feel that I am not well prepared to have this fantastical feast. The house is a mess and I don't know when I'm going to get the chance to clean it because I have so much school work to do this weekend. We have to go shopping for the giganto bird and other necessities, which might be hard given JD's school schedule and I haven't yet talked to Nate about doing the grocery shopping for this party. I need more hours in the day and more days in the week!!!

It's the middle of Novemeber and I have to start gearing up for prethanksgiving. I've got so much fog in my head right now that I can't really elaborate anymore than that.
I'm still working on JD's skull sweater. I really should have finished it by now but things like homework get in the way.

Oh joy and contentment. Tis the time when you get to take the first tests of the sememster.

I think that I successfully managed to calculate resistances, currents, powers and voltages for the Circuit Analysis test.

Our Physics II Prof. told us that as long as we know how to do the practice and homework problems we should be fine for the test. He is also letting us bring a sheet containing equations and constants. I've typed that up, I understand the homework and practice problems. BRING IT ON!!!

UGGGHHH!! Calculus II inverse trigfunctions!!! I don't like trig function to begin with. At least I don't have to do graphs. Will I successfully navigate my way through indeterminate limits, inverse trig functions, natural exponent and log functions and the Mean Value Theorem of Integrals? Ach!! Work and Voulmes of Reveloutions too!!!! Must remember the unit ciricle so I don't forget the values involved in the trig functions!!! GAH!!
