The Grandma visit turned out to be a success. She was making plans to come visit again in a year or sooner when we were walking out of the house to take her to the train station. It is a monumentally big deal that she enjoyed herself. I used to believe that she thought fun was just a dirty word and something only to be had by slackers and loafers. It's nice that she has started to mellow out.
I just realized that I have not mentioned anything about my knitting projects in quite a while. I have finished my yoga mat bag. It's a little too long but otherwise I think it went well. I made myself a shawl that was immediately hijacked by my grandmother. I made her another one just to be nice. I started a third shawl and she was eyeing that too but I told her no way it's mine. And so I am making myself a rose colored shawl with Pattons Divine.

My Grandma is visiting, YATTA!!!! It's been bretty good so far. We haven't had any arguments and she seems to be having fun. We took her to see "Around the World in 80 Days" I have never known her to go to a movie or even rent one and was unsure if she would even like it. I figured it was a good bet since she used to watch old Kung Fu flicks. Ahhhhh... Sat morning cartoons, wrestling, and kung fu flicks is what my weekend tv veiwing consisted of in my younger days. We haven't done much else. We started watching the first Harry Potter movie last night but she went to bed about half an hour into the movie and to my great suprised requested to watch the rest of the movie today. When the movie was done and the lights were turned back on she had a smile on her face. I thought "I'll be damned she really like that movie" We are going to take her to the MFA tomorrow and on Saturday night we are going to a POPS performance at Symphony Hall.
I got an elliptical machine this Monday. I'm really excited. I've been getting up early in the mornings so that I can practice yoga before going to work but Paul and Grandma are visiting which makes the accessibility of the living room at 6:00 in the morning a bit difficult. Ehh....who am I kidding I longed for an elliptical machine for a couple of years now. So excited.trisha's blog smells funny Thank you for that JD. Anyhooo.... I'm super excited and super out of shape. I've been a big girl for a long time but I played soccer in high school and did my three month gym spurts and did yoga so I've always been able to tolerate activity. I didn't realize how much sitting on my ass I was doing the past couple of years until this morning. Despite my doing yoga in the early morning I apparently wasn't prepared for how weak I am in the cardiovascular area. I'm non too happy about it and plan to report exercise attempts in a couple of weeks. In the mean time I'm going to keep on trucking and hopefully get access to the living room again to practice in the morning. BLAH BLAH BLAH... Ah Cindy you are the only one who listens (reads) and cares...

How do you like the new layout?
Sorry Cindy!!! I love your comments and the fact that you make commects but now that Blogger provides their own comments I got rid of the Haloscan comments. I never did like the alignment anyhoo.

Today I turn 26. I've reached the point where, according to JD, things start to go down hill. Aside from the strange hip pain when I walk I feel like a spring chicken. I'm almost done with my mat bag. Finally I can stop knitting in a tube.
Nate managed to get me to leave the house at ten o'clock last night to go see the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Prisioner of Akabar or something like that. It was a lot of fun. I can't believe how many college age people were there to see it. It was sold out and it was on three screens. I must say that it was fun. Thank you for getting me out of the house last night Nate. Plus I got to see Nicole and John and that is always fun.
My Grandmother is on the phone with me right now and she said that I can dip into her yarn closest. She's got a closet in one of the basement bedrooms that is so full of yarn that you have to be careful opening the door. I think she's got a stash in her bedroom also. I may not have to buy yarn for quite sometime if that's the case. The only draw back is that I may have to wind the yarn into balls. That can be a bit of a pain in the ass but it will be worth it since she's got a lot of yarn.

I want to blog really I do but I don't know what to talk about. I'm watching JD play Billy Hatcher. It's his latest obsession. We have Nate to thank for this. Mean while I've been playing Morrowind again. I haven't been able to do as much video gaming as I would like. I've actually been working a lot. I did finally get married and have a kid in Harvest Moon. I've been neglecting the game though because Morrowind is such crack. JD doesn't blog any more and it makes me sad.
Kevin, the other person I work for, really wants me to get my drivers license. I guess I should. I mean there is no good reason for me not to have it. I can't possibly fail a road test in Boston. I've had driving instructors tell me that the speed limit is just a suggestion. I'm gong to eat now. JD is chowing down on some Cod and white Asparagus and it looks yummy.
